The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, July 28, 2009, with the
following members present: Robert L. Thomas, David S. Keller and Robert G.
Ziobrowski. Chairman Thomas presided and after calling the meeting to order, and the
Pledge of Allegiance proceeded with the business of the day.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by David S. Keller; unanimously
approved to adopt the agenda.
Commissioner Keller responded to public comment questions. On the issue with
the State Budget funding -The County will continue to find as many efficiencies as
possible in the budget and will be forced to reduce services or raise taxes but are trying
to avoid either propositions if possible. No staff cuts are planned at this time. Staff,
under the guidance of Mr. Hart, is to not only achieve 8% budget cuts but to bring
County in under target. The Purchasing Department is streamlining the purchasing
process and will save several thousand dollars a year. Human Resources and
Controllers Office are going electronic and the County is getting close to deploying
retirement management software and could reduce manpower by one full-time
employee.
The minutes of July 21, 2009 and July 23, 2009 meetings were read. These will
be approved and signed on Thursday, July 30, 2009.
The Board reviewed Agreements and Contracts. These will be approved and
signed on Thursday, July 30, 2009.
The Board met with the County Solicitor to review related matters.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by David S. Keller;
unanimously approved to enter an executive session at 9:31 a.m. this date for the
purpose to discuss possible litigation. The Board reconvened into regular session at
10:35 a.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:36 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski;
seconded by David S. Keller.
