WELCOME
Dr. Benhart opened the meeting and welcomed everyone in attendance at 3:01 PM
APPROVAL OF MINUTES – July 28, 2022
Planning Commission members reviewed the minutes from the July 28, 2022 meeting. David Mackley made a
motion to approve the minutes from the July 28, 2022 meeting. The motion was seconded by George Pomeroy.
All members in favor of the motion as presented.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
STAFF REPORTS
A. Reports as Submitted
The staff report was provided to the Planning Commission prior to the meeting.
B. Director’s Report and Planning Updates
Staffing – Steve let the Board know Rochelle was leaving the Planning Department on November
9, 2022 and presented her with a certificate of appreciation for over 16 years of service to the
Department.
Municipal Summit – Steve provided the group with information on the Municipal Summit held in
September

NEW BUSINESS
a) Conservation District Board Recommendation - Evan Burkholder is a current board member of
the Conservation District Board, the Planning Commission voted to recommend to the Board of
Commissioners that Evan Burkholder be voted to another term with Conservation District Board
of Directors. Motion to recommend Evan Burkholder be reappointed. George Pomeroy motions
to approve, seconded by Andy Paszkowski. All members in favor.
b) Comprehensive Plan Update - Nicole briefed the Board on the update of the comprehensive plan
and provided information on the open houses that were hosted over the last couple of weeks,
along with the public outreach that is being done via in person, direct mailing, and online/paper
copy surveys. Dr. Benhart asks about the responses we have gotten back so far and Nicole lists all
the common themes we have been hearing.
c) Mosquito Program Recap – Steve briefs the board on the success of the program, and that the
state has renewed the contract for the 4 county WNV program.
SUBDIVISIONS
The Planning Commission members discussed the subdivision and land development report from July – October
2022. Austin Rosenbaum made a motion to accept the report as submitted, seconded by John Poniske. All
members in favor.
REMARKS
The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for February 2, 2023. Steve asked the Commission
members what they thought about meeting six (6) times a year instead of only four (4) times. David suggested
advertising for one (1) meeting a month, but cancel the ones we don’t need.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned with a motion from David Mackley and was seconded by John Poinske at 3:54 PM.
