The Franklin County Commissioners, on behalf of the STAR Committee (Special Thanks And Recognition)
proudly presents the Employee of the Month award to Kyle Fleming.
Mr. Fleming has been employed with Franklin County since July of 2008. He currently serves as a Corrections
Officerin the Jail. The selection for the February2026Employee of the Month was determined by the STAR
Committee. There were four nominations, one of which were for Kyle.
The STAR nomination form asks what recent event(s) or occurrence made you select Kyle and the answer
stated:
After another Officer identified an abnormality during the initial body scan Officer Fleming demonstrated
exceptional attention to detail and professionalism by conducting a thorough follow-up search. As a result of
his diligence, he successfully located contraband and prevented it from being introduced into the facility. His
actions reflect a strong commitment to safety, policy, and proactive security measures. By taking the extra
time to ensure the situation was handled properly, he not only helped keep himself safe, but also helped
protect fellow staff, inmates, and the overall security of the jail. His efforts showed the high standards and
dedication expected of our officers and make him highly deserving of Employee of the Month recognition
Mr. Fleming’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by his peers. Those who
work alongside Kyle used numerous positive words to describe him. These included reliable, dedicated,
strong work ethic, and team player.
We are so grateful to Mr. Fleming’s as he exudes a high standard of knowledge, leadership and excellence to
the employees and residents of Franklin County.
