IT IS HEREBY AGREED by and between the County of Berks, with offices at Berks County Services
Center, 633 Court Street, Reading, Pennsylvania, 19601 (hereinafter “County”) and Franklin County,
Pennsylvania, a County of the fourth class having its principal office at 272 N. 2nd Street,
Chambersburg, Pennsylvania 17201 (hereinafter “Contracting Party”) that:
This Amendment serves to extend this Agreement through June 30, 2027 (hereinafter “Extension Term”)
for the provision of Bed Space at the Berks County Youth Center – Shelter Program. The rates shall
temporarily remain the same during this Extension Term until the County receives approval from the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of the County’s per diem rate submission for Fiscal Year 2026/2027
(hereinafter “Approved Rates”). The Approved Rates shall be recorded via a separate amendment.
This Amendment #1 shall be incorporated as an integral part of the above noted Agreement and shall
supersede any conflicting language contained in the Agreement and any previous Amendments. This
Amendment is effective as of the date of the last signature set forth below. All other provisions of the
Agreement remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
Both parties agree and acknowledge that electronic/facsimile signatures are binding to this Amendment.
With the intent to be legally bound, authorized officials of each party have signed this Amendment on the
dates noted below. Each person signing this Amendment represents and warrants that such person is fully
authorized to sign and enter into this agreement on behalf of the company named above his or her signature.
