TUESDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2010
The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, October 19, 2010, with the
following members present: David S. Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G.
Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, and the
Pledge of Allegiance proceeded with the business of the day.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas;
unanimously approved to adopt the agenda.
There was no public comment.
The minutes of October 12, 2010 and October 14, 2010 meetings were read.
These will be approved Thursday, October 21, 2010.
The Board reviewed Agreements and Contracts. These will be approved
Thursday, October 21, 2010.
The Board met with the County Solicitor to review related matters.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas;
to enter an executive session at 9:13 a.m. this date for the
unanimously approved
purpose to review Montessori Academy Tax Exemption Appeal and Potential
Litigation matters. The Board reconvened into regular session at 9:58 a.m.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas;
unanimously approved to authorize Mary Beth Shank, County Solicitor to enter into an
agreement with Chambersburg School District and Bruce Locke to provide forensic
accounting services for the Montessori Academy Tax Exemption Appeal at a cost of
$270.00 per hour. The County will pay 22.5% and the School District will pay 77.5% of
total costs.
The Board of Assessment and Revision of Taxes met to hear tax assessment
appeals.
The Board recessed at 12:00 p.m. and will reconvene at 2:30 p.m. for tax
assessment appeals.
Commissioner Keller left the meeting at 2:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:03 p.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski;
seconded by Robert L. Thomas.
