The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, January 6, 2009, with the
following members present: Robert L. Thomas, David S. Keller and Robert G.
Ziobrowski. Chairman Thomas presided and after calling the meeting to order, and the
Pledge of Allegiance proceeded with the business of the day.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by David S. Keller; unanimously
approved to adopt the agenda.
Public Comment was received from Mr. Allen Piper, President of Citizens for
Responsible Government, who would like to know cost to lease/rent, cost of
maintenance and insurance of the building the Commissioners Office is located. Mr.
Piper would like the Board to consider moving to a more energy efficient location.
The minutes of December 30, 2008 meeting was read. These will be approved
and signed on Thursday, January 8, 2009.
The Board reviewed Agreements and Contracts. These will be approved and
signed on Thursday, January 8, 2009.
The Board reviewed Criminal Justice Advisory Board matters. On a motion by
Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by David S. Keller; unanimously approved the
Application to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency for a grant in
the amount of $10,000.00 with a cash match of $1,112.00 for the Juvenile Probation
Summer Work Program for the grant period of April 1, 2009 through March 30, 2010.
This is to ratify action taken on December 23, 2008.
The Board met with the Human Resources Director and the County Controller to
review Salary Board and Personnel matters.
The Board recessed at 9:27 a.m. and will return for press time.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:57 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski;
seconded by David S. Keller.
