HomeMy WebLinkAbout6-4-2021 - Requests for Funding - Block Grant Email i June 4, 2021 Dear Franklin County Human Services Block Grant Committee Members: Our 12 voting committee members received the following email with voting instructions last week in order for our being able to move forward with spending and not exceeding our allowable carryover for the fiscal year. I just wanted to share that the request(s) for funding were approved as described in the email below. Ten (10) voting members cast yes votes and two (2) did not respond to the email notification. This action will be caught within the minutes to be shared with you all. Thank you and have a great weekend! Stacie ********************************************************************************** Good Morning Committee, I've attached a current fiscal summary for your review. While services are starting to pick up in some areas currently, due to the pandemic and the slow start of the fiscal year we're currently projecting to have funding over our 5% allowable carryover in the amount of $99,291. Any funding over the 5% must be returned to the State at the completion of the fiscal year. We've been able to identify projects that need additional funding totaling $70,760. We are requesting that the committee approve the following for expenditure: $27,760 - Data Warehouse Project - The committee initially approved funding for this project totaling $14,148. The additional $27,760 will fully fund the project for FY 20-21. $9,000 - New Hope Shelter - This project was initially awarded $15,000. Based on the shelter census, the provider has requested an additional $9,000 in order to fully cover costs for the period of April-June 2021. The additional funding will serve approximately 16 additional individuals. $18,000 - Drug and Alcohol Health and Service Records Software - The program has funded the cost of their health and service records management system out of reserves. Approval of this request will replenish reserves and allow for funding to be allocated to services in the next fiscal year. $14,000 - Shelter Support - The County supports the shelters annually with a one-time contribution. This transaction will reimburse the General Fund for the contribution made this year and allow us to use Homeless Assistance funding. i $2,000 - Franklin Together Home Start Program - This project was initially awarded $14,000. It was initially projected that 7 individuals would be served. To date 12 individuals have been successfully released from jail with home plans. It's anticipated that an additional 4 can successfully be released provided we can allocate additional funding. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Stacy Rowe Human Services Fiscal Manager
