Early Intervention Provider Meeting Minutes

Provider Billing
Trish asked if any providers had any problems, concerns, questions with billing. UCP
stated they do not have any problems they were aware of. If there are any problems;
Darcy directly emails Holly or fiscal. Holly stated the only recent problems are with the
EIX numbers and consultations that have not been entered into the system for payment.
Linda said once she gets an RA she faxes to Darcy, so that she is aware of what has been
billed and paid for. In the next PELICAN update, there will be work arounds for EIX
numbers and a way to reference back. As well as EIX numbers remaining available once
a child has been closed. Jen (UCP) said there is a step by step process for finding EIX
numbers and information regarding each number for client. She will forward that
information to Cheryl. Ed reminded all providers to have invoices and billing submitted
in a timely manner so that processing can be done in a timely manner as well.

ELN will be down from November 19 through November 29.
Ashley Bricker will be in charge of questions that filter though ELN and the help desk
from now on, so please contact her with your questions.

Miscellaneous
Cynthia asked if there will be amendments done for the new rate changes along with a
st
mass rate change that will go into effect on January 1, 2011. The answer to her question
was “yes” amendments will be done! Authorizations will not be effected that are already
in the system. If providers are already at the cap rate, nothing will be affected. And no
word of cost settlement having to be done because of the change.
The meeting was adjourned. The next EI Provider meeting will be held on January 21, 2011
in conference room 164 at Human Services Building at 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM.
