Fiscal Updates: Trish reported that there is still no information from the State regarding the final re-budget for Fiscal year 2011-2012. Megan Cook created a chart for use by Providers which lists total encumbrance amounts vs. monthly billing amounts. This will allow Providers to track their billing more closely throughout the fiscal year and make corrections in a timelier manner. It was mentioned that providerscan bill as often as they want. For example one provider bills every two weeks. Ed Franchi reminded Providers that timely billing is crucial. The State adjusts the County‟s total funding amounts based on what‟s in Pelican and if billing is not kept up-to-date, funding can be adversely affected. B. Want vs. Need: EI programs are awaiting clarification from the State as to how to proceed with increased efficiency the provision of services. The State has been clear in indicating that, despite EI being a mandated service, there are no guarantees of availability of end-of-the-year funding. In order to best utilize services without duplication, Providers are encouraged to alternate weeks with families who receive more than one service in the home. C. No-Show Policy: Therapists who arrive at a family‟s home for a scheduled appointment and find them to be a „no-show‟ are reminded to alert Service Coordinators (SC) as soon as possible. It is essential that Providers supply a completed form reporting any „no-show‟ appointments to SC‟s in order for them to proceed with contacting the family so cancelled/ missed appointments may be tracked. Importance of the consistency of services should be reinforced with families. Providers having concerns or questions should directly contact Holly Divelbliss, EI Supervisor. D. Miscellaneous: As of 11/1/12, every child will receive an „Ages & Stages‟ Social & Emotional screening. Training on the Pyramid Model occurred at Rhodes Grove Campground this month. Trish indicated that the training was mandatory for therapists and yet some did not attend. It may be more effective to stipulate any future mandatory trainings as a “No EI Services Day” so as to reinforce „mandatory‟. Trish reminded Providers of the next LICC meeting on 11/2 from 9-11 a.m at the Ag Building on Franklin Farm Lane in Chambersburg. The meeting was adjourned. Trish will send out the Provider meeting schedule for 2013. Minutes by M.P.
