Thursday, August 26, 2021- Starting at 9:00 a.m.
Members present Kerry Watson, Chairperson; Gary Pentz, Member, Nicole Scott,
Member, other participants Andrew J. Benchoff, Esq., Solicitor and Jodi L. Martin, CPE,
Chief Appraiser/Assessor
2. The meeting was called to order by Kerry Watson, Chairperson at 9:00 a.m.
Motion to approve meeting minutes of August 24, 2021 and August 25, 2021. Motion
made by Kerry Watson; Seconded by Nicole Scott approved 3-0.
4. No public comment
4. Hear Tax Assessment (Exemption) Appeal Hearings (Starting at Approximately 9:00
a.m.):
Executive Session to Deliberate on Daily Hearings and Discuss Any Other Appropriate
Board Matters, such as Pending Court of Common Pleas Litigation
6. Old Business: No old business
7. New Business or Matters for Daily Action:
A.) Decide Daily Hearings on Motion, Second, and Vote of Board herein attached and
made a part of the minutes.
B.) Authorize Solicitor to Take Action on Pending Court of common Pleas Litigation.
1.) Shree Sai Siddhi Chambersburg, LLC v Franklin Co. BART, Case No. 2020-
3530. The property is located at 955 Lesher Road, Chambersburg, PA. The original
assessment value placed on Tax Parcel No. 10-01D08. 173.-000000 was $704,800.00.
The new assessment value on this Tax Parcel will be $589,600.00 for the year 2021
and $568,160.00 thereafter. On Motion by Kerry Watson; Seconded by Gary
Pentz to approve settlement agreement and authority for Solicitor Benchoff to
sign the Stipulation. Approved unanimously.
2.) Zane Hotels, LLC v Franklin Co. BART, Case No. 2020-3526. The property is
located at 451 Gateway Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. The original assessment value
placed on Tax Parcel No. 03-1C00.-160B-000000 was $531,650.00. The new
assessment value on this Tax Parcel will be $496,375.00 for the year 2021 and
$478.325.00 thereafter. Motion by Kerry Watson; Seconded by Nicole Scott to
approve settlement agreement and authority for Solicitor Benchoff to sign the
Stipulation. Approved unanimously.
6. The meeting was adjourned at 12:30 p.m. with a motion by Kerry Watson; Seconded by
Nicole Scott.
