Psychiatric Admissions Reporting Overview
?
th
There are fewer people that have been admitted to psychiatric hospitals in the 4 quarter
th
2009 than the 4 quarter of 2008. The goal is to keep folks out of psychiatric hospitals
for more than two times per year.
Review of the results from the brief Provider Survey
?
The quality management team has reviewed the surveys submitted by the providers and
are working on a plan for the Provider Meetings to make them more worthwhile.
Review of Mental Health Quality Management Plan.

Administrative Staff is working on goals for the agency. When they are finished all goals
will be posted on the county website.
Review of suicide-related crisis contact data
?
Kelly Goshen, Franklin County Crisis, has been tracking calls to crisis for suicide. In
February there were 50 people that presented with symptoms of suicide. In January and
February there was a huge spike. The group felt that we should break down the age
groups that crisis listed (18 – 59). They felt that they should be listed as (18 – 29), (30 –
49), and (50 – 65). They also felt that the number of people from military families should
be tracked.
Contract and Budget Discussion
?
Ed stated that the current budget spreadsheet has revisions. He recommended that the
fiscal person for each agency call him to send the updated version. We need to have all
contracts in place by June 29, 2010.
Cori shared with the group that Ed, Becky and/or Linda may be coming along when the
county does program monitoring reviews. This will help them to become more familiar
with the agencies and their programs.
Provider Profile – Individual/Family Satisfaction Team
?
Lynn Davis, Mental Health Association of Franklin and Fulton Counties, did a
presentation on how county funded providers can create a survey with the help of Mental
Health Association’s I/FST team. This survey does not point out problems but gathers
information that the agency would like to track. Lynn will meet with the agency and talk
about what information they would like to gather. Then together they would create
questions for a survey to send to individuals associated with that agency. The individuals
would complete the survey and send it back. This service is free to the providers as it is
funded through county dollars. The goal is to collaborate with providers to track growth
and improvement within the agency and the system as a whole.
Lynn explained that they will do this for any agency in Franklin and Fulton County. If
the agency would like to include other counties they can do that as well. This survey can
then be submitted to the county and satisfy the survey requirement.
Susan Snyder, Drop-In Center at New Horizons, presented the experience of the survey
process as they encounter it with the I/FST. She stated New Horizons had as much input
into the survey questions and process as they wanted. They had space reserved for face
to face surveys. Upon completion of the survey, the I/FST team presented the finding to
New Horizons in a presentation as well as a bound copy.
