MEETING MINUTES
Welcome & Introductions
This meeting was held via Google Meet. Those present introduced themselves and their
agency affiliations during the Provider Updates.
Administrative Entity (AE) Updates
,®±¨ 9®´¦
Provider Qualifications will start with Cycle 3, Year 1 on February 1, 2024. All
providers with a Master Provider Index (MPI) of 0, 1 or 2 will be required to submit
Provider Qualification documentation by March 31, 2024 to John Gerak. John will be
taking over all provider qualifications starting in 2024. If any information is sent to
Lori she will forward it to John. Lori will be available to help John with the process
but John will be the Provider Qualification contact moving forward.

Marion reviewed ODP announcement 23-083 (attached) regarding the addition of
Needs Group 5 in an effort to eliminate some of the existing exceptional rates. This
change is effective January 1, 2024. The Supports Coordinators (SCs) will be
updating individual support plans for individuals impacted by this change.

Marion discussed serious illness/injury categories. Providers can continue to
reference the clarification document. Serious injury includes treatment beyond first
aide including assessment by a physician (whether that occurs at urgent care,
emergency room, etc.). Serious illness requires a hospitalization. The illness
category is for COVID positive reports only. If you are unsure, please reach out to the
Administrative Entity (AE) or Christina Yeager -

Please review the provider contact list for updates/changes. Please reference the
contact list when communicating allegations in which you are not the provider of
service. This will help to ensure all initial reporting information is provided
accurately. Please include the SC and AE on the email communication.
ODP nurse Audrey Wicks is no longer with ODP. We will keep you all posted on
central region changes.

The 2024 provider meeting schedule is February 16, May 17, August 16 and

November 15. All meetings will take place on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. Meetings will
continue in virtual format.

Supports Coordination Organization (SCO) Updates
SAM is fully staffed. They have hired Amber as an SC.

SAM offices will be closed the following dates for holidays November 23 and 24;

Healthcare Quality Unit (HCQU) Updates
First Quarter syllabus are out and were attached to the provider meeting agenda.
HCQU trainings can be in person, as requested. The HCQU is open and flexible with
scheduling.
Provider Updates
Merakey
Merakey is accepting referrals for their Sollenberger home.

OSI is receiving referrals. OSI participants have made ornaments. An event is

Tara discussed changes to remote support and the new waiver amendments. Tara
will be attending the waiver amendment webinars today to determine how they will
affect the delivery of Remote Support Service. Please reference waiver amendment
information sessions and ODP announcement 23-087 (attached).
