For example, an individual was restricted from an activity; however, the provider staff corrected it immediately. If the individual wanted to attend an event or go somewhere, but they weren't able to go that day, the provider took them the next IDD Provider Meeting Friday, November 15, 2024 day. In this case, the determination is that the provider feels that the person's rights were not violated because they were still able to participate in the event. While Marion is glad that providers are able to implement those corrective actions promptly, it doesn't deter from the event that actually happened, which was an actual violation of the rights. Those allegations should still be confirmed allegations. Please continue to put the information regarding the corrective action in the first section. Marion is noticing that the admin review committee is determining that the allegation is not confirmed because it was able to be resolved quickly and it doesn't negate that the event actually happened. Please review this with your incident management staff and if they have any questions related to this, feel free to have them reach out to Marion directly for further discussion. ( £®´³² ¥®± ³§¤ -¤¤³¨¦ - o HealthCare Quality Unit (HCQU) trainings this went out with the agenda and will also go out with the minutes. o Dual Diagnosis Conference Series. o The 911 Health Alert - please review this alert with staff to ensure that they are trained to avoid delays in reaching out to 911 in an emergency situation. Marion is aware that some providers have policies set up where staff is advised to contact certain people prior to reaching out to 911; however, it is considered neglect of care to delay an emergency response. If you need additional detailed training, the HCQU will provide training to providers and staff. Feel free to reach out to them. o Certified Investigators (CI) Program Spotlight Newsletter - the CI forums provide a lot of useful information. You are able to send in questions that they will review and respond back to you. It is great for investigators as they have questions or situations that come up that are unusual. Topics are discussed in the forum and can also be submitted for a future spotlight once they have been thoroughly reviewed. If you go to the spotlight newsletter, you can look at previous newsletters for resource information for investigators incident management teams, admin review teams, and peer review teams. o Provider contact list - if your contact information needs updated, please contact Marion so that she can make the necessary changes. An updated contact list will be distributed after changes are made (see attached). *®§ '¤± ª John reminded providers that if they received their Quality Management (QM) recertification in 2023, they are due for recertification which is due by December 31, 2025.
