Before searching for an item, (if folders are not being shown on the screen) first click on
the “Click here to see folders” link highlighted below. Otherwise, click on the”Search”
button located at the top of the screen. That will bring up a box located on the left pane
of the screen allowing you to search for your desired item.
Now you will be able to enter a term or phrase in the field to the left. The search
will be directly related to the type of search you do. Choosing the right type of
search and narrowing down your fields will only decrease search time. More
searching information and help is listed below.
Clicking the down arrow next to “customized search” will bring up all of the search options you
are accustomed to.
Text – search for text within the document
Document/Folder Name – search for a specific document or folder name
Field – template search
Within Folder – limits the search to within the specified folder
Within Volume – not needed Franklin County only has one volume
Sticky Note – search the text within a sticky note or text box
Creation Date – find a document based on when the document was created
Modification Date – find a document based on when a change occurred in the document
Electronic Documents – searches only native file documents
Has Pages – find documents that contain x number of pages (0-?)
Relationship – finds documents where a relationship has been established
Tags –searches for documents that contain specified tags
Below is the result screen for a text search. Results can be sorted by the documents creation or
modification date. The default sort is documents with the most hits will be on top. Choosing
show more information will show a thumbnail of the first page of each document.
Click on the page link next to a hit to open the document, search words will be highlighted.

will display in the white
area to the right. The bold
terms will be the
“searched for” terms. Also
displayed is the location
and context in which the
word is displayed.
To see thumbnails of all of the pages click the thumbnails tab on the left. If a page contains
sticky notes the contents of the note will appear contents of the sticky note click the
Annotations tab.
NOTE: The searched terms will be highlighted once the document is opened for easy and quick
navigation.

- Use the up and down arrows to move from page to page or type in a number and click
the button to navigate to a specific page.
- The PDF button will create a PDF out of the document. This allows you to
save, email, or print said document depending on your needs.
- The buttons can be used to zoom in and out of the desired page.
- This button allows you to fit the width of the viewing window
- This button allows you to fit the entire page in the window to be viewed at one time.
- As you drill down through the folders you will see the folder path you followed. To go back
on your path click the link on the folder you want to open. Using the back button at the top
of the window will bring you back one screen at a time. If you have a document open you
can click the folder link to return to the folders. ( Shown by the blue arrow below)
