Township Zoning Hearing Board will be holding a public hearing this month.
The hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 20, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Greene Twp.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice of a public hearing is hereby given pursuant to th~ provisions of the Pennsylvania
Municipalities Planning Code (Act 247 and 170 as amended) and the Greene Township
Code (as amended). The purpose of said public hearing is for the Greene Township
Zoning Hearing Board to hear the following requests. Request #1 of SCI-P ACT Market!
Harvey Bollinger, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, P A, 17001. The property location is
Parklawn Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA, 17201.. Under
the provisions of Section 105-19 B Parking Regulations of the Greene Township Code,
the applicant is requesting a variance on the required minimum number of parking spaces
for a proposed funeral home use. They desire to provide approximately thirty-six parking
spaces and the current regulations of the Code require approximately one hundred
parking spaèes. Request #2 was submitted by N~vin & Ruth Kuhns, 3366 Scotland
Road, Chambersburg, P A, 17201. ,The property is located at 3366 Scotland Road and the
landowner is Bridge Vu Farm LP, 3609 Frecon Road, Chambersburg, PA, 17201. Ruth
Kuhns is requesting to have a proposed business use in the residential dwelling at 3366
Scotland Road classed as a Home 'occupation use. This request is in reference to Section
105-32 Home Occupations of the Greene Township Code. She requests to practice
massage therapy, as a certified massage therapist, out of her house..
The public hearing on the requests is scheduled for Monday, March 20,2006 at 5:30
p.m. at the Greene Township Building Meeting Room, 1145 Garver Lane, Scotland, PA,
17254. This hearing is open to the public. Any person who needs an accommodation in

Paragraph 9.
Grounds for appeal and reasons for variance.
There are two items that constitute our reason for this request for a variance.
1. The available land is not adequate to provide parking for the potential capacity of
the funeral home based on the current parking regulations. We have shown
parking adjacent to existing burial plots. The plan indicates (36) total parking
spaces. In addition overflow parking could be located around the oval driveway to
the south of the parking lot. The regulations would require (3) spaces for
employees and approximately (100) for funeral seating.
2. We believe the requirement of 1 space per chapel seat is too restrictive. Similar
activities require one space for 3 or 4 seats. The owner has no other facilities with
the regulations that strict. We are not aware of any funeral homes currently in
Greene Township. The neighboring Guilford Township has established a quantity
based on square footage that we believe could be met with our present layout.
