AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, FRANKLIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP ZONING ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Washington Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, adopted on April 2, 2001, Washington Township Ordinance No. 153, known as the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance and thereafter as amended; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Washington Township deems it to be in the interest and welfare of the residents of the Township to amend the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance by altering the Washington Township Zoning Map as described below and as shown on the attached map. NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority of and pursuant to the provisions of Article V of Act No. 247, as amended, of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, approved July 31, 1968, known as, and cited as the "Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code"; and any amendments and supplements thereby, amending Ordinance No. 153, adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Washington Township on April 2nd, 2001, and known as the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance, be it enacted and ordained by the Board of Supervisors of Washington Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, that the Zoning Map of the Township adopted pursuant to Ordinance No. 153, known as the Washington Township Zoning Ordinance be revised and Ordinance No. 153 is hereby amended as follows: ARTICLE 1. George E. & Ellen H. Mason, property located at 11556 Country Club Road. The zoning shall be changed from Low Density Residential (R-1) to Agricultural (A) for 78.87 acres ± owned by George E. & Ellen H. Mason. Description of the property is as follows: Tract No. 1 BEGINNING at a point near a private roadway leading from the farm buildings on the real estate hereby conveyed to the public road leading from Waynesboro to Roadside; thence north 34-1/2 degrees east 6.5 perches to a point in the Antietam Creek; thence with the center of said Creek by Tract No.2, north 13 degrees east 8 perches; thence north 3-1/2 1 degrees west 18.7 perches; thence with said Creek and by lands formerly of R.N. OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THIS TOWNSHIP AMENDING THE 1999 WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. WHEREAS, on February 17, 1999, the Washington Township Supervisors adopted an updated Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, recent amendments to the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning code require the Township's Comprehensive Plan to be generally consistent with the Township's Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Township desires to rezone approximately 78 acres of land currently zoned R-1 to A; and WHEREAS, the Township desires to keep the Comprehensive Plan consistent with the Zoning Ordinance by amending the Comprehensive Plan to mirror the proposed zoning changes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of this Township, as follows: Section 1. Amends the Future Agricultural Land Use Plan, M12; the Future Residential Land Use Plan, M14; and the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, M16, to reflect the following residential and agricultural zoning changes: The George E. & Ellen H.
