While mental health and substance conditions are common, they are extremely treatable and individuals go on to recover and lead full and productive lives. One sad fact is that many people living with a mental health condition—as high as 50 percent—never seek or receive help due to stigma, lack of information, cost or lack of health insurance coverage. Many people may be reluctant to ask for help or don’t know where to find it. May is Mental Health Month, let's spread the word about mental health, how important it is to overall health, and where to access support! Art show at Chbg Mall May 18-20 Walk the Walk May 25 Sharing Resources Network: One of Franklin Fulton County Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities/Early Intervention's goals for 2011 was to be more intentional when it comes to sharing information about resources (information, training opportunities, webinars, etc.) of which we become aware. We have created a process to "get the word out" to those who would benefit from receiving the information, the Sharing Resources Network (SRN)-which goes out via e-mail on Tuesdays and Fridays. Most of the information you will receive will be geared towards the mental health/ intellectual disabilities/early intervention fields. Also, as you become aware of training opportunities, webinars, resources, informative websites, etc. please send them to Jim Gilbert (jgilbert@co.franklin.pa.us) for inclusion in future SRN e-mails. If you would be interested in having your name (and the names of others from your agency) added to the growing e-mail list, please e-mail your request to Jim. Thanks!
