The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, June 6, 2017, with the
following members present: David S. Keller and Robert L. Thomas. Chairman Keller
presided and after calling the meeting to order, a Moment of Silence, and the Pledge of
Allegiance, proceeded with the business of the day.
Chairman Keller said that Commissioner Ziobrowski is not attending the meeting
today. On a motion by Robert L. Thomas; seconded by David S. Keller; unanimously
approved to adopt the agenda.
There was no public comment.
The minutes of the May 30, 2017 and June 1, 2017 meetings were reviewed.
These will be decided upon on Thursday, June 8, 2017.
The Board reviewed Agreements, Contracts and Reports. Commissioner
Thomas wanted to mention the board action requesting money from the Housing Trust
Fund that the County established years ago. This week's request is another
collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, making improvements to a home in the same
neighborhood as a previous funded request. Chairman Keller said that there have been
several projects through Habitat and we have a good partnership with them. Carrie
Gray, County Administrator, explained board action item #1, which is an amendment
with the University of Cincinnati Research Institute. This is the next phase in
implementing the Ohio Risk Assessment and this will be a "train the trainer" session.
The following item was approved today while the remaining items will be approved
Thursday, June 8, 2017.
The Board reviewed Grants/CJAB matters. On a motion by Robert L. Thomas;
seconded by David S. Keller; unanimously approved the amendment to the agreement
between the County of Franklin and University of Cincinnati Research Institute to provide
training on the Ohio Risk Assessment System to Probation Officers from Franklin and
Fulton Counties. This amendment extends the agreement through July 31, 2017 and
will include one, five-day training of trainers for up to 12 staff with a fixed amount of
$19,750.00 which includes salaries, benefits, travel, training materials and administrative
costs. All other terms and conditions contained in the original agreement remain
unchanged.
The Board reviewed personnel items. On a motion by Robert L. Thomas;
seconded by David S. Keller; unanimously approved the revised Operations and
Training Officer Position description in the Department of Emergency Services.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:39 a.m. with a motion by Robert L. Thomas;
seconded by David S. Keller.
