MH 2 6/9/17
CASSP has been working with Tuscarora Managed Care Alliance (TMCA),
Children Youth Services and other agencies on complex cases. It is important for
us to work together to coordinate and increase communication.
Recently, Kim completed a grandfamily program. The University of Maine Center
on Aging has certificate program providing core education, technical support,
and leadership development for professionals delivering grandfamily and kinship
programming across the country. Kim works with families where children end up
living with their grandparents as their main care takers. There are nine (9)
modules in the course. If interested, please contact Kim at (717) 709-2307. You
can also visit the website:

» TMCA Update – Gen Harper, Compliance and Quality Director
TMCA has expanded. Gen Harper is the new Compliance and Quality Director
and Brad Coccagna is the new Quality Specialist.
For those who signed up for the Co-Occurring Training on June 16th, it has been
canceled as there were not enough participants signed up.
» PerformCare Update – Janina Kloster, Provider Network Account Executive,
Provider Relations and Brian Gannon, Regional Program Director
Provider Notice handout was provided to all who attended the meeting. This
notice mentions two (2) Medical Assistance Bulletins: 99-16-07 Enrollment of
Ordering, Referring and Prescribing Providers (issued April 1, 2016) and 99-17-02
Submission of Claims that Require the National Provider Identifier of a Medical
Assistance enrolled Ordering, Referring and Prescribing Provider (issued January
30, 2017). The second bulletin is clarification to the bulletin issued in April 2016.
Up to this point, it has not been required for psychiatrists, psychologists, CRNPs or
other licensed practitioners who work in a licensed program to be individually
enrolled in Medicaid with their own PROMISe number. Nor was individual
credentialing with PerformCare required. PerformCare has been notified verbally
by the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) that the
requirements for enrollment of ordering, referring and prescribing providers will
be applied to the physical health and behavioral health managed care programs
by January 1, 2018 at the latest.
Links are included in the Provider Notice that was sent out. The notice will also be
posted to the PerformCare website: http://pa.performcare.org. PerformCare is
encouraging all providers to get started on enrolling in Medicaid to obtain their
own PROMISe number as soon as possible.

» Sequential Intercept Model
The Sequential Intercept Model was updated last month. During a meeting that
was held, it was found that there are new things we can update and things we
can remove from our mapping. The format will be changed to make it easier to
read. It shows what services are available across the intercept. Also, new is the
intercept zero. The mapping will be updated to include this. As soon as the
mapping is completed Cori will share it with providers.

Co-Responder Model is to get individuals engaged in the mental health system
prior to or instead of the criminal justice system. Kay has gone on live 911 calls
and has done pre and post 911 calls. She started with the police on May 1st.
Within the first month, Kay has seen over thirty-four (34) individuals. Data is
being tracked to provide outcomes to Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and
