PROVIDER ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPDATES » Pennsylvania Counseling Services The children’s services office will be completing evaluations Monday and Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Please contact (717) 261-1218 or Matt Litzinger at (717) 228-9183. » Occupational Services, Inc. OSI is celebrating their 60th anniversary. There will be a Facebook sixty (60) day giveaway with prizes; Like OSI’s Facebook each day and you are entered to win. The Connector of Franklin County, June 2017 edition was handed out. For those interested in having a business or classified ad or local event added to the Connector, please visit www.osic.org/theconnector. » Mental Health Association Christmas in July is on July 14th at Norlo Park. More information will be coming. » Healthy Communities Partnership Overdose Prevention Task Force is hosting a home run derby on June 19th. Registration is 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Participants have four (4) minutes to hit as many home runs as they can. Cost is $15 in advance and $20 on the date of the event. Funds are going to HCP Operation Save a Life. The next meeting for Operation Save a Life is Tuesday, June 13th at 6:00 p.m. at Chambersburg First Church of God. It is a training to help participants recognize opioids, know how to prevent and respond to an overdose and be trained to administer Naloxone. Those who attend the entire training will receive Naloxone. Registration must be done in advance. Please visit www.hcpfranklinpa.org. CHILDREN’S SERVICES » CASSP Update – Kim Lucas, CASSP Coordinator Joanne Cordell and Kim have prepared a presentation on accessing children’s mental health services. They are welcome to come to your agency to present. The presentation is catered to the group it is presenting to. It takes about an hour and a half. Mental Health Provider Meeting MH 2 6/9/17 CASSP has been working with Tuscarora Managed Care Alliance (TMCA), Children Youth Services and other agencies on complex cases. It is important for us to work together to coordinate and increase communication. Recently, Kim completed a grandfamily program. The University of Maine Center on Aging has certificate program providing core education, technical support, and leadership development for professionals delivering grandfamily and kinship programming across the country. Kim works with families where children end up living with their grandparents as their main care takers. There are nine (9) modules in the course. If interested, please contact Kim at (717) 709-2307. Gen Harper is the new Compliance and Quality Director and Brad Coccagna is the new Quality Specialist. For those who signed up for the Co-Occurring Training on June 16th, it has been canceled as there were not enough participants signed up. » PerformCare Update – Janina Kloster, Provider Network Account Executive, Provider Relations and Brian Gannon, Regional Program Director Provider Notice handout was provided to all who attended the meeting. This notice mentions two (2) Medical Assistance Bulletins: 99-16-07 Enrollment of Ordering, Referring and Prescribing Providers (issued April 1, 2016) and 99-17-02 Submission of Claims that Require the National Provider Identifier of a Medical Assistance enrolled Ordering, Referring and Prescribing Provider (issued January 30, 2017). The second bulletin is clarification to the bulletin issued in April 2016. Up to this point, it has not been required for psychiatrists, psychologists, CRNPs or other licensed practitioners who work in a licensed program to be individually enrolled in Medicaid with their own PROMISe number. Nor was individual credentialing with PerformCare required. PerformCare has been notified verbally by the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) that the requirements for enrollment of ordering, referring and prescribing providers will be applied to the physical health and behavioral health managed care programs by January 1, 2018 at the latest. Links are included in the Provider Notice that was sent out. The notice will also be posted to the PerformCare website: http://pa.performcare.org. PerformCare is encouraging all providers to get started on enrolling in Medicaid to obtain their own PROMISe number as soon as possible. The length of stay has increased slightly and there have been more admissions. Holy Spirit Hospital is now Geisinger Holy Spirit. MH/ID/EI has two (2) individuals in the EAC and is loaning a bed to Cumberland/Perry County. There is no one on the waiting list. Danville State Hospital – we continue to have eleven (11) individuals there; resulting in six (6) over our bed cap. There are two (2) individuals on the waiting list. We continue to have several individuals who have been identified as needing nursing home level of care, including South Mountain. There are processes in place now. There is an individual who has been referred to Danville who has been at South Mountain. » Sequential Intercept Model The Sequential Intercept Model was updated last month. During a meeting that was held, it was found that there are new things we can update and things we can remove from our mapping. The format will be changed to make it easier to read. It shows what services are available across the intercept. Also, new is the intercept zero. The mapping will be updated to include this. As soon as the mapping is completed Cori will share it with providers. Mental Health Provider Meeting MH 4 6/9/17 » Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Training MH/ID/EI sponsored a one day training – “Supporting a Person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” with David Pitonyak, Ph.D. on Thursday May 18, 2017. There were 70 people in attendance. For additional information, check out David Pitonyak’s website: www.dimagine.com. » Co-Responder Model The Mental Health Program has started a Co-Responder Model in Waynesboro, Washington Township and Greencastle. Keystone is providing the service with the liaison being Kaylena Martin. Kay may be reaching out to make referrals. The Co-Responder Model is to get individuals engaged in the mental health system prior to or instead of the criminal justice system. Kay has gone on live 911 calls and has done pre and post 911 calls. She started with the police on May 1st. Within the first month, Kay has seen over thirty-four (34) individuals. Data is being tracked to provide outcomes to Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). PCCD awarded the grant to start the model. NEW AGENDA ITEMS » Liability Insurance Document Typically when the budget is done, there are two items missing: cost allocation plan and updated liability insurance documents. We require that you send us a copy of the documentation. If you are renewing your liability insurance, please send Becky (raleidig@franklincountypa.gov) a copy. The meeting was adjourned.
