The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, August 15, 2017, with the
following members present: David S. Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G.
Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, a Moment
of Silence, and the Pledge of Allegiance, proceeded with the business of the day.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas;
unanimously approved to adopt the agenda.
There was no public comment.
The minutes of August 10, 2017 meeting were reviewed. These will be decided
upon on Thursday, August 17, 2017.
The Board reviewed Agreements, Contracts and Reports. Jen Wenzel, Program
Specialist for Mental Health Housing, was present and provided an overview of the
housing efforts in the county. Ms. Wenzel also explained the different Housing and
Urban Development (HUD) as well as Mental Health Department grants and provided
detailed information which includes two renewal HUD grants and two new HUD grants to
provide expansion to the existing grants. John Thierwechter, Director of Department of
Emergency Services, explained the renewal of the Homeland Security Grant program for
three years through the PA Emergency Management Agency. This grant involves eight
counties in the South Central Task Force region and the money is used to fund task
force incidents above and beyond what equipment the county has. The items will be
approved Thursday, August 17, 2017.
Steve Nevada, Assistant County Administrator, introduced Ashley Yinger as the
new Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities/Early Intervention Administrator.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:14 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski;
seconded by Robert L. Thomas.
