HomeMy WebLinkAboutPhebeTo all whom these presents shall come: whereas my mulato girl Phebe, child of Negro Dina, eighteen years old last November, by her birth and afterwards being recorded in Carlisle agruably to a Law of this state passed March 1780 is a slave for life, and whereas in consideration of the good behaviour and fidelity of the said Mulatto Phebe and to encourage her to do well in future and also because I abhor slavery, do by these presents bind myself my heirs executors administrators and assigns that the said mulato Phebe shall be at full and free liberty at the age of twenty eight years and for this purpose do here deliver her this writing duly acknowledged.
