HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-06-16 Commissioner MinutesTUESDAY, JUNE 16, 2009 The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, June 16, 2009, with the following members present: Robert L. Thomas, David S. Keller and Robert G. Ziobrowski. Chairman Thomas presided and after calling the meeting to order, and the Pledge of Allegiance proceeded with the business of the day. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by David S. Keller; unanimously approved to adopt the agenda. Public comment was received from Allan Piper, President of Citizens for Responsible Government who is asking for his June 4th questions to be answered and is asking the Commissioners to use due diligence in spending tax payer's money. Commissioner Thomas read a prepared statement in answer to Mr. Pipers questions and provided a copy to him. On the issue of Commissioner meetings being held in the evening, personnel costs would be higher due to paying overtime and could affect municipal officials who would like to attend. Mr. Piper mentioned the public attending cannot hear everything being said, the Board does not want the added cost of a professional sound system since the meeting room is not large. The Governor's proposal to add 1 % sales tax in order to relieve property taxes, the board does not have a position at this time and will respond when the PA House and Senate pass this legislation. The minutes of June 9, 2009 and June 11, 2009 meetings were read. These will be approved and signed on Thursday, June 18, 2009 The Board reviewed Agreements and Contracts. These will be approved and signed on Thursday, June 18, 2009. The Board met with the County Solicitor to review related matters. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by David S. Keller; unanimously approved to enter an executive session at 9:30 a.m. this date for the purpose to review Litigation matters. The Board reconvened into regular session at 9:40 a.m. The meeting was adjourned at 9:42 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by David S. Keller. FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
