HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-08-31 Commissioner Minutes TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2010 The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, August 31, 2010, with the following members present: David S. Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G. Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, and the Pledge of Allegiance proceeded with the business of the day. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to adopt the agenda. Public Comment was received from Mr. Allen Piper that had mentioned a few meetings ago about having Commissioners consider or establish a blue ribbon panel of citizens to help with the study of the Court facility project. Mr. Piper asked if considered this proposal? Commissioner Keller responded that it’s being taken under advisement, idea was being considered before and is still being considered. Mr. Piper thanked the Chairman for reply and not sure how long a consideration may go on. Is a proposal or consideration or do they feel that they may or may not in the near future establish a panel and how long plan on considering this proposal? Commissioner Keller responded that will respond at a later time and will be deliberated in public. The minutes of August 24, 2010 and August 26, 2010 meetings were read. These will be approved Thursday, September 2, 2010. The Board reviewed Agreements and Contracts. These will be approved Thursday, September 2, 2010. Dave Secor, Treasurer met with the Board to discuss approving Hotel Tax Procedures. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved the Rules and Procedures for the administration of the Franklin County Hotel Tax. The Board met with Gerald Sulcove, Esquire to review an assessment appeal matter. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski, seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to enter an executive session at 9:55 a.m. this date for the purpose to review an Assessment Appeal matter. The Board reconvened into regular session at 10:28 a.m. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski, seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved the Payment in Lieu of Taxes Agreement with Capital Theatre Center Foundation and authorized Jerrold Sulcove, Esquire to execute said Agreement on the Board’s behalf.
