HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-07-19 Commissioner Minutes TUESDAY, JULY 19, 2011 The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, July 19, 2011, with the following members present: Robert L. Thomas and Robert G. Ziobrowski. Vice Chairman Thomas presided and after calling the meeting to order, and the Pledge of Allegiance proceeded with the business of the day. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to adopt the agenda. Commissioner Thomas announced that Commissioner Keller will not be in attendance today. There was no public comment. The minutes of July 12, 2011 and July 14, 2011 meetings were read. These will be approved Thursday, July 21, 2011. The Board reviewed Agreements and Contracts. Commissioner Thomas had questions about the Morefield/Avaya contract and Strickler Agency proposal and Mr. Hart provided more information on these items. The following Board Action items were approved and the remainder will be approved Thursday, July 21, 2011. The Board reviewed Commissioners’ Office matters. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved for the Vice Chairman of the Board to execute the Renewal Purchase Agreement between the County of Franklin and Morefield Communications, Inc. for Avaya PASS basic software support for the County’s telephone system, required for Avaya support on any possible software issues associated with any one of the County’s telephone switches at a cost of $5,344.00. It would be too expensive to pay for Avaya support without this maintenance agreement, and it is for the period of June 22, 2011 through June 21, 2012. The Board reviewed additional Commissioners’ Office matters. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved the Proposal between the County of Franklin and Strickler Agency, Inc. to provide broker consultant services for group health benefits at a cost of $50,000.00 for plan year January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012. Services include assessment of current benefits; developing alternative plan design and funding options; writing comprehensive Request for Proposal; marketing ideas to multiple insurance carriers and Third Party Administrators; summarizing and recommending best options; implementing and educating staff; consulting on various topics requested by Franklin County.
