HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012-05-22 Commissioner Minutes TUESDAY, MAY 22, 2012 The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, May 22, 2012, with the following members present: Robert L. Thomas and Robert G. Ziobrowski. Vice Chairman Thomas presided and after calling the meeting to order, and the Pledge of Allegiance proceeded with the business of the day. Chairman Keller will not be in attendance this week. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to adopt the agenda. There was no public comment. The minutes of May 15, 2012 and May 17, 2012 meetings were reviewed. These will be approved Thursday, May 24, 2012. The Board reviewed Agreements, Contracts and Reports. Commissioner Ziobrowski asked John Hart, County Administrator to explain the process for abolishing the position of jury commissioners. Mr. Hart explained that Act 108-2011 allows counties to abolish jury commissioners before the Municipal Election. This requires a letter from the President Judge which has been received. The act also requires the Board to pass a resolution with an effective date of January 6, 2014. Jury Commissioner duties have changed over the years and the duties have been diminished. The items will be approved Thursday, May 24, 2012. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski, seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to appoint Dr. Satyajit Mukherjee to the Franklin/Fulton County MH/ID Advisory Board for a term of January 2012 through January 2015. This appointment was approved by the nominating committee. The Board recessed at 10:00 AM and will reconvene at 1:30 PM. The Board held a Franklin County Retirement Board meeting. Michael Shone, Peirce Park Group President, met with the Board to provide a report of the Franklin County Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB) Fund, and said the investment gains for the first quarter were $514,651.00. He said returns have been good and they are doing what has been looking for and not sitting in cash. The meeting was adjourned at 3:35 PM with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L.
