Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to adopt the agenda. There was no public comment. The minutes of October 23, 2012 and October 25, 2012 meetings were reviewed. These will be approved Thursday, October 18, 2012. The Board reviewed Agreements, Contracts and Reports. Commissioner Ziobrowski questioned the need for tasers in the Sheriff’s Office. John Hart responded that this is a nonlethal way of dealing with people and most times they calm down where using a gun or mace in the courtroom setting everyone in the vicinity would be exposed. Mr. Hart supports this as long as there is training and the deputies use common sense. The following item was approved today and the remainder items will be approved Thursday, November 1, 2012. The Board reviewed Emergency Services matters. On a motion by Robert L. Thomas, seconded by Robert G. Ziobrowski; unanimously approved the Declaration of Disaster Emergency to direct the Franklin County Emergency Management Coordinator to coordinate the activities of emergency response due to the severe weather on or about October 29, 2012 and to take all appropriate action needed to alleviate the effects of this disaster, to aid in the restoration of essential public services, and to take any other emergency response action deemed necessary to respond to this emergency. This Declaration shall take effect October 27, 2012. The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas. FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
