HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-01-15 Commissioner Minutes TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2013 The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, January 15, 2013, with the following members present: David S. Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G. Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, a Moment of Silence, and the Pledge of Allegiance proceeded with the business of the day. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to adopt the agenda. Jay Lightfoot provided public comment and asked when the engineering study will be done to get the inside doors painted in the Commissioners complex. Kim Wertz provided public comment and said she is working with people to see what can be done with inmates who are illiterate. She asked if there is a way to make completing a literacy program and receiving their GED a condition of probation so they can get on their feet, get a job and not go back to jail. Chairman Keller responded that there are GED programs at the Jail and Day Reporting Center but not sure about it being a requirement of probation so he will follow-up at a later date. The minutes of January 8, 2013 and January 10, 2013 meetings were reviewed. These will be approved Thursday, January 17, 2013. The Board reviewed Agreements, Contracts and Reports. The items will be approved Thursday, January 17, 2013. The meeting was adjourned at 9:41 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas. FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
