The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, February 10, 2015, with the
following members present: David S. Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G.
Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, a Moment
of Silence, and the Pledge of Allegiance, proceeded with the business of the day.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas;
unanimously approved to adopt the agenda.
Richard Jones provided public comment and wants to know what's behind the
fuel prices going up.
The minutes of the February 3, 2015 and February 5, 2015 meetings were
reviewed. These will be approved Thursday, February 12, 2015.
The Board reviewed Agreements, Contracts and Reports. Commissioner
Thomas asked for more information on board action item #5, supplemental appropriation
for hotel taxes. John Hart, County Administrator, explained the County received more
revenue and expenses than budgeted for hotel taxes so we have to allocate additional
funds to the Visitors Bureau and Treasurer's administration credits. All items will be
approved Thursday, February 12, 2015.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas;
unanimously approved to appoint Kathleen Newcomer for a term of February 10, 2015
through December 31, 2015 to fill an unexpired term on the Franklin County Blighted
Property Review Committee. This position was advertised in the Public Opinion
newspaper on January 11, 2015. The Planning Director reviewed the applications
received and provided a recommendation to appoint Kathleen Newcomer.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:43 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski;
seconded by Robert L. Thomas.
