HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-04-14 Commissioner Minutes TUESDAY, APRIL 14, 2015 The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, April 1 , 2015, with the following members present: David S. Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G. Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, a Moment of Silence, and the Pledge of Allegiance, proceeded with the business of the day. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to adopt the agenda. Kim Wertz provided public comment and asked who C.S. Mckee is listed under action item 6. The minutes of the April 7, 2015 and April 9, 2015 meetings were reviewed. These will be approved Thursday, April 16, 2015. The Board reviewed Agreements, Contracts and Reports. Chairman Keller responded to Ms. Wertz question that C.S. McKee is one of the entities with which the County invests pension funds with. The following items were approved today. The remaining items will be approved Thursday, April 15, 2015. The Board reviewed Children and Youth matters. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved the revised First Quarter Report to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services showing expenses and revenues for July 1, 2014 through June 3 , 2015 in the amount of$2,215,032.00. This revision is to reclassify Title IV®E maintenance revenue and program (client) income to the correct revenue source, decreasing Act 146 funding and increasing County funding by $3,799.00. The Board reviewed information regarding National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. Meghan O'Brien, Emergency Management Agency (E A) Assistant Director, Bryan Stevenson, EIVIA Communications Supervisor, and a few telecommunicators were present to receive the proclamation. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to sign Franklin County Proclamation #2015®05 proclaiming the week of April 12®13, 2015 as National Public Safety Telecommunications Week and that the attached proclamation be made a part of these minutes. The meeting was adjourned at 9:49 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas. FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Proclamation #2015 - 05 National Public Safety Telecommunications Week April 12-18,2015 Whereas,emergencies can occur at anytime that require police,fire or emergency medical services;and Whereas,when an emergency occurs the prompt response of police officers,firefighters and emergency medical services is critical to the protection of life and preservation of property;and Whereas,the safety of our police officers,firefighters and emergency medical services is dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained from citizens who telephone the Franklin County Department of Emergency Services communications center;and Whereas,Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first and most critical contact our citizens have with emergency services;and Whereas,Public Safety Telecommunicators are the single vital link for our police officers and firefighters by monitoring their activities by radio,providing them information and insuring their safety;and Whereas,Public Safety Telecommunicators of the Franklin County Department of Emergency Services have contributed substantially to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires and treatment of patients;and Whereas,each dispatcher has exhibited compassion,understanding and professionalism during the performance of their job in the past year; Therefore,Be It Resolved,that the Board of Commissioners of Franklin County Pennsylvania declares the week of April 12 through 18,2015 to be National Public Safety Telecommunications Week in Franklin County,in honor of the men and women whose diligence and professionalism keep our county and citizens safe.
