Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G. Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, proceeded with the business of the day. Jean Byers, Deputy Chief Clerk, and Jennie Aines, Chief Registrar, met with the Election Board to consider the possible redistricting of St. Thomas Precinct 2. Mrs. Byers explained she received a request from poll workers at St. Thomas 2 to move some voters from them due to this being a large precinct. Mrs. Byers is proposing to take some voters from St. Thomas 2 and moving them to precincts 1 and 3. She explained this has been reviewed with the Department of State who gave their tentative approval. The St. Thomas Township Supervisors have been contacted and a packet was provided to them. Information was also given to the three Judges of Elections. She explained the next step is a hearing with the Courts. Once the County Solicitor sets a hearing date and time for the court hearing, signs will need posted at each polling place plus other public facilities for 10 days prior to the hearing to notify voters of the change. All affected voters will get new voter cards with a notice that their polling place has changed. Mrs. Byers said she may contact St. Thomas Township to see if they do a newsletter that this information could be included. Chairman Keller also suggested posting it on our website and doing a press release. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved this redistricting plan in St. Thomas Township and asked staff to proceed with submitting the plan to the Courts. Mrs. Byers also informed the Election Board that the polling place in Peters Township Three will move from the Lemasters Community Center to the Peters Township Municipal building and also they are moving the polling place in Mercersburg Borough from the Trinity United Church of Christ to the M.M.P.&W.
