The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, June 7, 2016, with the
following members present: David S. Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G.
Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, a Moment
of Silence, and the Pledge of Allegiance, proceeded with the business of the day.
John Hart, Chief Clerk/County Administrator, asked for an amendment to the
agenda to include an executive session to discuss real estate transaction matters. On a
motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved
to adopt the amended agenda.
There was no public comment.
The minutes of the May 31, 2016 and June 2, 2016 meetings were reviewed.
These will be approved Thursday, June 9, 2016.
The Board reviewed the board action listing.
The Board reviewed appointments to the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski, seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously
approved to appoint John Thierwechter, Anthony Blackman, Fred Scott, Anthony Zollo,
Jacob Crider, Robert Povlich, Jr., Becky Housekeeper and Jon Williams to serve on the
Local Emergency Planning Committee.
The Board reviewed appointments to the Franklin County Housing Authority
Board. Commissioner Thomas asked about the policy of reviewing applicants and
reaching out for recommendations from the organizations. He would like more
discussions rather than just accepting their recommendations. Chairman Keller
informed Commissioner Thomas that this is the time for discussions, we have a
recommendation to appoint an individual but if there is an issue with the
recommendation then the Board can discuss it. Commissioner Thomas would like to
relook at the process but he agreed to proceed with the recommendation. On a motion
by Robert G. Ziobrowski, seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to
appoint Sam King to the Franklin County Housing Authority Board for the term of June 1,
2016 through May 31, 2021.
On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski, seconded by Robert L. Thomas;
unanimously approved to enter an executive session at 9:42 a.m. this date for the
purpose to review real estate matters. The Board reconvened into regular session at
10:22 a.m. No action was required after executive session.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:23 a.m. with a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski;
seconded by Robert L. Thomas.
