HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-03-28 Commissioner Minutes TUESDAY, MARCH 28, 2017 The Franklin County Commissioners met Tuesday, March 28, 2017, with the following members present: David S. Keller, Robert L. Thomas and Robert G. Ziobrowski. Chairman Keller presided and after calling the meeting to order, a Moment of Silence, and the Pledge of Allegiance, proceeded with the business of the day. John Hart, Chief Clerk, asked to amend the agenda to include an amendment to the lease agreement with the Borough of Mercersburg for the Magisterial District Judge office space. This amendment is to give them a six month termination notice with the option to extend the lease on a month-to-month basis if the project for the new office space takes longer. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to adopt the amended agenda. There was no public comment. The minutes of the March 21, 2017 and March 23, 2017 meetings were reviewed. These will be approved Thursday, March 30, 2017. The Board reviewed Agreements, Contracts and Reports. The following items were approved today while the remaining items will be approved Thursday, March 30, 2017. The Board reviewed Sheriff Office matters. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved the proposal from Hagerstown Paint and Glass Company to provide safety film on the interior glass at five metal detector stations run by Sheriff Office personnel at a cost of$7,560.00. The costs will be paid through the AOPC Grant. Quotes were requested but there were no other responses. The Board reviewed Commissioner Office matters. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski; seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved the amendment to the Lease between the Borough of Mercersburg and the County of Franklin to provide Franklin County the option to exercise a month-to-month lease for the second floor of Borough Hall for use as a hearing room and offices for the Magisterial District Judge. The Board reviewed Commissioners Office matters and conducted a bid opening for the printing of ballots for the Municipal Primary Election. The following bidder submitted a bid: Beidel Printing House from Shippensburg, PA bid an amount of $11,250.00 for Republican ballots and $8,400.00 for Democratic ballots for a grand total of$19,650.00. On a motion by Robert G. Ziobrowski, seconded by Robert L. Thomas; unanimously approved to award to Beidel Printing House for a total bid of$19,650.00. This was the only bid received.
