HomeMy WebLinkAboutMaryKnow all men by these presents that I William Wilson of the Township of Peters in the County of Franklin and State of Pennsylvania for and in consideration of having bought Mary a Slave for life on that condition from Margaret Pason Have given, granted, bargained and sold, aliened, released and confined and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and fall (??), alien, release and confirm unto the said negore Mary, her liberty and freedom, at and upon the expiration of six years, from the state thereof but this her manumission not to affect children born of her body until that time; Together with all the right, title, Interest claim property possession and demand whatsoever of me, my Executors, Administrators or Assigns, of in or to the said negroe Mary, but she is at that time to be absolutely free from henceforth and forever. In witnesss whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal the second day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eight and I do hereby desire the same to be recorded according to Law. William Wilson (seal) Witness present Archibald Bard Franklin County. Be it remembered that the above named William Wilson came before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County on the day of the date aforesaid and acknowledged the above manumission as his act and desired that it may be recorded according to Law.
