In our experience these are normally issued by the buyer to the seller, not the seller to the buyer. A1: The letter of credit is to be issued by the mover to the County. The purpose is that should the contracted seller/mover fail to perform, The County has assurity that it can be compensated for the added expense that would cause. As an alternative to an irrevocable letter of credit, the County will also accept a Performance Bond using the attached file IFB 2026111-02 Delivery of Election Equipment and Supplies PEFORMANCE BOND. Q2: Regarding the statement that each truck shall be staffed with 2 contractor staff and 1 County staff person, does this mean you require a county staff person to ride in the truck with our crew? If so, we will need to check with our insurance company to confirm requirements as we typically do not allow passengers in our trucks. A2: The County staff will drive separately and will not ride in the contractor truck.
